What is the Board?

The Partnership Board is here to improve the lives of people with a Learning Disability.

It came about because of 'Valuing People' and 'Valuing People Now'

Valuing People Now

Valuing People Now is a government strategy for people with learning disabilities. It says that all people with a learning disability are people first with the right to lead their lives like any other.

This Board is for people with learning disabilities, family carers and anyone who works with, or comes into contact with people with learning disabilities.

10 years and Counting

In November we will be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of our Board and "Valuing People".
In 2001 Valuing People was the first strategy published by the goverment for 30 years to detail a specific programme for improving services for people with Learning Disabilities.
In 2009 the goverment released "Valuing People Now" strategy as a responce to recomendations by an independent inquiry. The inquiry was called "Health for All". It looked into how easy it was for people with Learning Disabilities to access Health Services

In the last ten years we would like to know which services in Herefordshire have improved and what services you feel still needs improving?
